About Me

​ ​I was born and raised in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. I grew up going to Dodgeville Schools, and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 2024. My whole life has been centered around technology. I was probably around four years old when I first learned how to use a computer, in particular a Windows Vista desktop PC. I remember playing games on it and using it to download random pictures online, pretty much anything that was of interest to me at the time. I also remember messing around with Microsoft Paint quite often, as I found it interesting to create random images of things.

​ ​Around the same time, I learned how to use a Super Nintendo Entertainment System or SNES for short, since my mom had one growing up, and wanted to show it to me. At that time, I was starting to gain a fascination of video games, and I think she must have thought it was time to reveal it to me. The main game I remember playing on it was Super Mario All-Stars. I used to be obsessed with playing that game. I would often get home from school and want to play that game right away. This was almost all of the time from what I remember.

​ ​Eventually, I recieved a Nintendo Wii as a gift, or technically, my mom did, but I ended up being the primary user of it, so it ended up being more of gift for me. I remember playing a variety of games on it, from New Super Mario Bros. Wii to different monster truck racing games. It was from this moment forward that I realized just how much I like playing video games.

​Throughout my childhood, I remember having different video game consoles in addition to the SNES and Wii, such as a Sony PlayStation 2, a Nintendo DS, the unpopular Nintendo Wii U (although I liked it), and a Nintendo Switch in the later part of my childhood. Across every console, maybe except the SNES, I remember having quite a few games for each one, from a variety of genres and characters, primarily favoriting Mario from the Nintendo side of consoles.

​​In my teen years, I always wanted to have my own computer (ideally a laptop for its portability) to play PC games with, as I still enjoyed playing them too. I remember my first computer being a small HP laptop, I do not remember the exact model. Eventually, I ran out of storage on it, so I decided to upgrade to a desktop PC due to it being less expensive than the laptops that I found. I had that PC for a few years until I started having performance issues in the games that I played with it. Since it was a desktop, and at this time I was starting to gain more interest in computers and technology, than what I had before, I decided that I would try upgrading the graphics card. I had previously done some research on computers, and figured out that the graphics card could have been the issue. If I remember correctly, I think I was correct and upgrading the graphics card fixed the issue, as the PC only had an integrated GPU before the upgrade. I also had to upgrade the power supply as the PC was going to need more power for the graphics card. I found it cool that I was able to upgrade my computer. It was also at this time when the COVID-19 pandemic was still happening and I was home a lot more. I had a lot more free time on my hands, so researching computer stuff was something that helped to occupy my free time.

​It was not too long after I had upgraded my PC that I noticed that my PC started having more issues, which eventually led my to getting something else. I decided to switch back to using a laptop because I found that I personally like having the portability of a laptop over the upgradability of a desktop. At this point, I had done enough research of computers to know what I exactly wanted for a computer. I ultimately wanted a laptop with the capabilites to play every game that I was wanting to play at the time, while still being at a price that I could afford. My parents were willing to help me pay for part of it, but not the whole thing. Eventually, I found the exact laptop that I was looking for, that was a reasonable price, unfortunately, it was still more than what I could afford, so my parents ended up paying for a part of it.

​ ​I still have that laptop today, and use it almost everyday. Unfortunately, the laptop does not have a very long battery life due to it having a more powerful, less energy efficent graphics card, using more power in general, draining the battery faster. Eventually, I decided to get a second laptop, one that has a longer battery life, which I needed for college. This led me to buying my first MacBook, specifically a MacBook Pro, which I know would definetely have a longer battery life than the Windows laptop that I currently own. I think my Windows laptop at best can only get approximately three hours of use on a single charge, whereas my MacBook Pro can get a full day of use without needing to be charged once.

​Now, I primarily use my MacBook Pro as my main computer, and my Windows laptop for gaming, as that where all of my game data is stored, and in my opinion the better computer for playing most games. There are times that having two different computers come in handy, especially when I am trying to do multiple things at a time that require the use of a computer.

​ ​All I know is that since the COVID-19 pandemic, my fasicination with computers and technology has only grown. For the longest time, in my middle school and almost all of my high school years, I thought I wanted to go on to further education to become a medical doctor, or more specifically, a primary care physician. Obviously, I decided against going to school to become a physician, as I lost my interest in going to school for it, and decided to go to college for something  that I had a real interest in, computers and technology in general. 

​I knew University of Wisconsin-Platteville was where I wanted to go due to it being the closest four-year university to home, that also happens to be known for its engineering programs. At first, I majored in Computer Engineering, but eventually I decided to change my major to Computer Science with a Business Emphasis, since I liked the coding and developing software side of things more than the other parts. I decided to add the emphasis in business because I feel like it would be good to know business stuff too, especially since I would like to start my own technology company some day in the future. I could also potentially use the businss knowledge now with the small 3D-printing business (Fabliform) that I have at this point in time.

​I am currently in my third (Junior) year of college, and I am anticipating on graduating in May 2028, at the end of the spring semester.
